BRIDGETOWN

BRIDGETOWN
December 5th ~ Depart: 2pm
Lord Nelson’s statue, in a miniature replica of London’s Trafalgar Square, on an island where cricket, red telephone boxes and afternoon tea are highly prized - there is no doubting this Caribbean gem has British colonial roots. Coast to coast you’ll find whispering canes, romantic plantations, military signal stations and Orchid World - the quintessential garden.

GRENADA
December 6th ~ Arrive: 7am; Depart: 6pm
Traces of nutmeg, cinnamon and cocoa linger on the breeze in Grenada - the Caribbean “Island of Spice.” The volcanic island’s lush, green hills always held a seductive charm, yet for a century and a half the Caribs repulsed all attempts at European settlement. Commanding the heights overlooking St. George Harbour, Fort George and Fort Frederick are monuments to French and British successes.

TOBAGO
December 7th ~ Arrive: 7am; Depart: 10pm
Many forts and batteries dot Tobago’s landscape hinting at a thrilling past. Attacks by Amerindian on early settlers, battles for control between European powers, fierce slave revolts, and pirates are all part of an exciting history. Today the serene island is perhaps the last of the “virgin” Caribbean. Home to the oldest protected forest reserve in the western hemisphere, Tobago contrasts rolling hills against wave-beaten shores - the perfect canvas to create your own Lesser Antilles experience.

TRINIDAD
December 8th ~ Arrive: 7:30am; Depart: 6pm
The birthplace of Calypso, a multicultural melting pot stirred by the descendants of settlers from Europe, Asia, South America and the Middle East, Trinidad today is very different from the island Christopher Columbus set foot on in 1498. Venture away from the glitter and bustle of Port of Spain Trinidad’s lively capital, to Caroni Nature Sanctuary where wildlife and birds live amidst an almost surrealistic beauty.

AT SEA
December 9th
Your guest speakers share their knowledge during a day at sea.

LA GUAIRA
December 10th ~ Arrive: 7:00am; Depart: 6pm
Take a day out in Caracas! Venezuela’s capital openly embraces the modern, yet look closely and hidden in the shadows of skyscrapers are a host of historic gems. Birthplace of South American revolutionary hero Simon Bolivar, Caracas is infused with a rich sense of history, architecture and culture. Above the teeming metropolis the emerald slopes of Avila National Park rise like an immense wave forever on the verge of breaking.

CURAÇAO
December 11th ~ Arrive: 8:00am; Depart: 10pm
Between the blues of sky and sea, Willemstad’s distinct pastel-colored, Dutch-gabled buildings are part “New World,” part “Old World” and completely unique! Once one of the Dutch Kingdom’s most treasured colonial outposts, Curaçao’s prosperity was born of the Atlantic slave trade. Glimpse Curaçao’s underwater world, swim with dolphins, or explore a rich cultural heritage following in ethnic footprints of the past.

ARUBA
December 12th ~ Arrive: 8am; Depart: 4.30pm
Aruba - discovered by the Spanish, colonized by the Dutch and a clandestine hideaway for pirates and buccaneers, who preyed on ships transporting treasures back to the Old World! Step ashore and discover mysterious ochre-colored rock drawings.

AT SEA
December 13th
Your guest speakers continue their insights on this fascinating area.

MONTEGO BAY (Jamaica)
December 14th ~ Arrive: 9am
Disembark and transfer to airport for flight home.
